When you know it's wrong but it feels so right
Madison Montgomery is through with players. In fact, she doesn't want to date at all until she finishes her last year of college at the University of California, Irvine. She works as a Gulls' Girl, one of the beautiful women who interacts with fans and scrapes off ice during intermission breaks of the Newport Beach Seagulls hockey games in order to save money. It's there she meets Alec Schumacher, right winger for the first line of the Newport Beach Seagulls. He's deliriously good looking, a skilled player, and oozes charm from every inch of his skin. He's the exact person Madison promised to stay away from.
Except she can't seem to resist.
Alec Schumacher has a reputation that includes dating the beautiful women that clean up the ice during the games. The problem is, it isn't entirely true. Sure, he's hooked up with a couple but they hadn't meant anything and he always made that clear so everything was on the table. Then he meets Madison Montgomery, beautiful brunette who's smart, witty, and drop-dead gorgeous and everything changes. He wants to be around her, he wants to be with her.
But can he convince her that he's worth breaking her rules for?

Thought about the book: Madison and Alec are my favorite couple so far in the A Snapshot story line! Loving Madison’s you have no chance with me attitude with Alec is great! Loving the story line of Madison learning what hockey is all about and the things that go with being an ice girl for the Gull’s. With being told all about Alec and his history with girls Madison finds herself thinking about him a little more than she should, to being able to learn who he is on her own terms. To becoming friends with Alec and finding that she loves to spend time with her. I enjoyed reading on how Alec never gives up and keeps going back to try to find out who Madison is and why she makes him want to be better for her. I want to know how their relationship works out and to see if it last until the end of time like I hope it doesThought about the writing and layout of the book: The book had great potential, but with a lot of error in the writing it was hard to follow at times. The layout of the book was great and got me hooked in right from the start. Falling in love with the characters and the plot and story line that was laid out in front of me but with the errors sometimes I had to go back and reread a page or a few lines to understand what the author was trying to say.
What I liked: The story as a book over all was great and like I said the author did a great job tell the story at hand. I am a hockey fan and this just pulled me right in from the start and could not stop reading it.
What I didn’t like: The only thing I did not like was the errors that made it a little hard to read and understand at times.
Would I recommend: Yes, I would!

Charm on the Rocks A Slapshot Prequel Slapshot Prequel Trilogy Book 3 edition by Heather C Myers Romance eBooks Reviews
I was happy to see Alex and Madison's story play out. Love these two together. I enjoy Heather C. Myers' writing and this book was not a disappointment. Great romance with two strong characters that the reader will love getting to know.
Charm on the Rocks shows the prequels from the final perspective - that of the team. I enjoyed how it built on the prior stories and shows how Ken's death and Serafina's taking over the team impacted the players and Gull Girls. And the romance between Alec and Madison helped round out the sweet story.
I really enjoyed this story and it's part in the larger series.
This was a very interesting book. It is a story about Madison moving to California to go to school. She gets a job hockey girl and wears skimpy uniform and meets Alec a star hockey player. They seem to like each other but they are not allowed to date. Her father found out about her job and he said he wouldn't pay for her to finish school, but Alec and their boss set up where they set up for a scholarship
I certainly enjoyed reading the Slapshot prequels. I admit I was a bit confused when I read these three books, as a couple of other romantic couples stories' more or less carried into the other books, with the exception of Blood on the Rocks. However, each couple's story goes into greater detail in their own book.
Good romance without details of steamy sex, Charm on the Rocks is Madison and Alec's story. Very enjoyable, light read.
I've read a few books now by author Heather C Myers and enjoyed every one. This book is a good, well written book. Reminiscent of Tami Hoag, Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown and similar authors, I can't help but be amazed by the volume of writing she can produce. The third in a series on the Newport Gulls hockey team, this book is a romance seasoned with a flavor of hockey. The author crosses over in her writing so you feel wrapped up in a story line that could just as easily have been one long book. I'll be reading more by her in the future.
Charm on the Rocks is the third book in the Slapshot Prequel series. While this is part of a series, it is a standalone with no cliffhanger.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author managed to describe the main characters Madison and Alec characters and the setting well. While this story revolves around hockey, not as much time is spent on the ice as it was in Grace on the Rocks. The storyline is average but overall, it was a good read.
I enjoyed this book and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author including more books about the Seagulls hockey team.
When Madison starts working as a Gulls Girl, she has her priorities set finishing college, enjoying her time with her friend Amanda and most importantly, no men. That is until she meets Alec Schumacher; the rumored and well-known ladies man, with a trail of broken hearts in his wake. Madison's been warned of his reputation, yet she can't help but find endearing qualities about him. Alec is an enigma; he opens up to her in ways he never has with any other woman, which leaves Madison confused, yet intrigued.
When things take a turn for the worse in Madison's life, an unlikely hero of sorts emerges, showing his true character. Will Madison allow herself to let go and break her own rules or will she let her ties to an overbearing family hold her back?
This is a must-read series! I feel there's more to Madison and Alec's story yet to come in the upcoming new series. I'm anxious to find out!
I love this trilogy and every aspect of each of the characters. Heather created them with such depth and personality, you feel as you're part of their world. I could feel the icy cold of rink as the hockey games were played; the emotions of the players as they backed up their teammate. It was thrilling and exciting to say the least. 5 "charming" stars!
