Jack by the Hedge is the fourth book in the Jack of All Trades series by DH Smith. Each book is a stand alone but I recommend starting with book number one and reading them in order. We get to know - and empathize with - Jack a little bit more with each story. Jack is just an ordinary guy wrestling with the demons of his past putting one foot in front of the other trying to get through each day. I think it is his ordinariness that attracts me to these books.....no super sleuth, no hero; just a guy-next-door making a modest living, finding pleasure in time spent with his daughter, his hobby and an occasional lady friend. The stories are well written and can be read in one evening. There is no graphic violence, no graphic sex, no foul language and only a vague reference to religion. I highly recommend the Jack of All Trades series as a pleasant way to spend an evening engrossed in a good book. I am looking forward to more good reads from Mr. Smith.Product details

This is a wonderful series. DH Smith has become a favorite author of mine.
DH Smith does it great again!. I loved the fast paced book, with twists and wit and humor. If you don't already know and love Jack, you will after this book. Lots of other great characters in this story as well. Recommend reading, I couldn't put it down. (Beta reader and a huge fan).
This time Jack is hired to replace part of an outside wall that is collapsing. While he is working in the park he meets the various people employed there including Liz and her sister Rose. When the park manager, Ian is found dead Jack once again is involved in finding out who is responsible. I just love this series. The author has a great way of organizing his books and develops very interesting characters.
I enjoy reading new authors, and the ones who are generous with their work, providing their works for free. This was an enjoyable reading experience. I will seek out more from this author.
